5-day Corcovado Hiking*

December 28, 2024 to Jan. 1, 2025 with New Year’s Eve Beach BBQ and Fireworks!

Combine with Sea Kayaking Golfo Dulce Dec. 20-27 with layover day in Puerto Jimenez between trips. Dates include travel days.

Travel to the edge of Corcovado National Park, a vast roadless area of primary rainforest and wild Pacific beaches. We will beach hike 2 miles to an eco-lodge where comfortable “glamping” tent cabins overlooking the Pacific will be our two-night basecamp for hiking deeper into the national park, wildlife and bird watching. The layover day will be a full day hike, up to 7 miles, into the park with a local guide. We typically see all 4 kinds of monkeys, coatis, agouti, and myriad bird life. La Leona Lodge is off-the-grid, solar-powered, with private baths and cold showers, which believe us, feels good after a hot day of hiking. Meals are typical Costa Rican fare: Fresh, healthy and abundant.

*7-day custom trip can include horseback riding, zip lining, a dolphin tour and/or chocolate farm tour.

We will meet you at the airport in Puerto Jimenez for transfer to our waterfront hotel. It has a pool, wifi, and is within walking distance to shopping, banks and restaurants.
