About us

Burnham Guides LLC combines our work as guidebook authors and kayak guides. Over the last 15 years, we've written eight books, hundreds of magazine articles, and worked as kayak guides in the Florida Keys and Virginia's Eastern Shore. We are American Canoe Association (ACA) trained kayak instructors.

We spent three years researching the Florida Keys Paddling Atlas, poking the bows of our kayaks into every mangrove creek and island along the 100-mile chain.

For day trips in the Keys or Everglades expeditions, contact our friends at Florida Bay Outfitters: 305-451-3018. Their cool shop at MM 104 B/S in Key Largo makes a great first stop when you get off the highway!
