Guidebook authors and kayak guides

We've always thought work should be fun, so early on we combined the things we love doing together--writing and the outdoors. Twenty years later, we have eight books, and our own outfitting business to take people to our favorite places: Winter kayak expeditions in the Florida Keys and Everglades from the pages of our Florida Keys Paddling Atlas, paddling and hiking in Virginia Spring through Fall, Costa Rica, and Portugal, in the shoulder seasons. Kayak the Eastern Shore of Virginia & Maryland

mid-April through October TRIP CALENDAR

Spring through Fall finds us at our "basecamp" in Onancock on Virginia's Eastern Shore. The 1680 Colonial port is the perfect launch for kayak camping or B&B-based adventures on the Chesapeake Bay, the Seaside Water Trail, or Assateague Island, Maryland paddling with the ponies.

Costa Rica Eco-Adventures

Three unique adventures created by Burnham Guides are centered around the virtually undiscovered Golfo Dulce and Osa Peninsula on the South Pacific Coast, one of the most biologically diverse places on Earth. Spend a week or more with us kayaking, rainforest hiking, practicing yoga, bird, dolphin and whale watching. Lodging is in comfortable eco-lodges with all meals provided. We'll return in December 2015 to offer trips three different ways:
-Multi-adventure eco-lodge trip for all abilities: Dec. 1-8, 2015
-Hiking in Corcovado National Park: Dec. 8-13, 2015
-"Rustic" kayak camping trip: Dec. 14-20, 2015
The itineraries are structured so that hiking in Corcovado can be added as a pre or post trip to either of the Golf Dulce paddling trips. Space is limited, so Read More or E-mail for details.
