KL2KW: Key Largo to Key West

120 miles, 12 days
Offered November-April

*ADD a pre-trip through the Everglades for a truly Epic Adventure.

Burnham Guides are the ONLY ones guiding this trip in its entirety! Our signature KL2KW is the bucket-list trip of a lifetime, paddling the 120-mile coral island chain to the southernmost point in the Continental U.S.! We have a rest day at the halfway point for laundry, hiking or a snorkel trip out to the reef.

We paddle along Henry Flagler's beautiful railroad bridges, stopping on islands to lunch, rest and swim. Each night we'll set up camp in time for a delicious dinner, often with some fresh Florida seafood, and watch the sunset. Camping: Ranges from primitive to commercial campgrounds with tiki bars and pools.

Difficulty

This is a strenuous trip, for experienced paddlers able to kayak 12-18 miles per day, in potentially rough seas, and able to do a wet-exit and assisted re-entry. If you need a refresher on this, consider coming a day early for instruction.

Pre and post-trip Lodging

Camping and dinner in Key Largo on arrival day is included. You are responsible for making a hotel reservation at the end in Key West.

Transportation

Ideally, fly into Miami or Ft. Lauderdale, and take the keysshuttle.com to Key Largo. At the end, fly out of Key West. If you are driving, we can help arrange shuttle and parking of your vehicle in Key West for an additional charge.

  • $2,500 per person includes sea kayak, camping gear, meals, & camping fees.

  • Discounts for bringing your own sea kayak or gear, and for groups.

  • Please note if you bring your own kayak, plan on arriving a day early to get your car to Key West.
